Smithville Bastrop County, Texas 30 00.780' N 97 09.865' W This was one of the favorite sites for buffaloes to cross the Colorado River near Smithville. They crossed to graze at Grazley's Prairie on the south side of the Colorado River. Gazley's Prairie was named for Dr. Thomas Jefferson Gazley, the first settler in the Smithville area.
