Comments: This grave has an interesting story and some unanswerered questions attached to it. Mr. Lloyd was not only killed over a gambling debt on January 11, 1928, but his head was cut off. The murder was supposedly reported to the sheriff at that time, but it was brushed off by the sheriff saying he did not have time to bother with another death over gambling (this was the height of the oil boom in the area). It wasn't until 1941 when a hitchhiker brought up the murder that the grave was investigated. All that found was a skeleton minus skull, wrapped in work-clothes. The grave had obviously been visited before with the bones having been wrapped into the clothing. No charges have ever been filed and the skull is still missing.
